WRAL.com - Entertainment - ‘Cooter’ Urges Fans To Skip ‘Dukes’ Movie:
“Ben Jones, a former Georgia congressman who played the mechanic Cooter on the series, said profanity and sexual content in the film essentially trash what was a family-friendly show. He read a script of the movie, which comes out next month, and likens it to taking ‘I Love Lucy’ and turning Lucy into a ‘crackhead.’”
He probably didn’t meant to have this effect, but I want to see the movie even more now.
I think it’s pretty comical that the story has a link to the preview of the movie.

I was saving up that title for a recap post of the various podcasts that I’ve been listening to. Then I saw an ad for this…
Pauly Shore’s Minding the Store Podcast:
“Download this exclusive podcast and listen as Pauly Shore talks about his life, his loves and, oh yeah, his new show. “
*shudder*
(Via 43folders. I don’t know if it’ll be there, it was an ad on the left hand side, but that’s where I saw the link.)

A combination of rain and slackerdom turned today’s workout into some Regen and that’s about it. Plus I’m amazingly sore, so I kinda felt the need to back off a bit.

And you sometimes guess wrong, which is which. A damn good article, if only for this paragraph. Talk about a plan gone bad.
Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything
by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner -
William Morrow, 2005
:
“One man cites a story
he heard about a toll-collector strike in England. During
the strike, drivers were asked simply to put their money
into a box. As it turned out, the government collected more
toll money during the strike — which suggests that the
drivers were at least fairly honest, but also that the toll
collectors had been skimming like mad.”

macosxhints - Watch video podcasts with iTunes:
“iTunes 4.9 includes support for video podcasts, simply by having the RSS feed point to a .mov rather than an .mp3.”
I knew this worked, but this post gave me a reason to post.
So how long before someone starts podcasting pr0n? I wish I had an iPod photo to see if you can podcast pictures and have it sync to the iPod.

Another win. This team was (stress, was) undefeated this season. We shut them out the first half, final score was 7 to 4 in our favor.

I never thought I’d read, quite, that combination of words.

Hacking NetFlix : Yahoo! Movies Adds Netflix “Save” Button:
“Yahoo! Movies Adds Netflix ‘Save’ Button”
I was just thinking the other day, that this would be handy.
The link doesn’t go directly to the movie on Netflix, though. They actually seem to be linking to Netflix’s search with the title of the movie. Good enough to be handy, though.

Cocoa-Java Integration Guide
:
“Important: Features added to Cocoa in Mac OS X versions later than 10.4 will not be added to the Cocoa-Java programming interface. Therefore, you should develop Cocoa applications using Objective-C to take advantage of existing and upcoming Cocoa features.”
(Via MacSlash.)
WTF?
I guess that answers my question about the potential of Core Data/Bindings in Java. This also explains the half-assed drunken (yes, literarily) Apple presentations at JavaOne.
I hope this was a real strategic decision, not a knee-jerk resources issue. I can see the logic, actually. Who was writing Java applications that were stuck on OSX? Probably no one. If the logic is that no one was using the OSX-specific APIs, then all is okay. They still integrate Java reasonably well into the OS, so you can still be a real OSX application in Java.
Hopefully they won’t let the existing APIs rot.
